Anyone who owns a smartwatch or smartphone knows how important having a backup is. It gives one the opportunity to retrieve files in the event that the device crashes or undergoes a factory reset.

Backup and Restore on an Apple Watch is a simple and hassle-free process. It can be achievedby following the steps mentioned below:

How to Backup data from Your Apple Smartwatch?

The apps and settings on an Apple Smartwatch, which is synchronized with an iPhone, get automatically stored on iCloud or on a computer during normal routine backups. However, you can follow the steps mentioned below in case you need to take a backup manually:

Step 1: Un-sync the Apple Watch from the iPhone.

Step 2:  Turn the Apple Smartwatch on and synchronize it to the iPhone.

Step 3: Upon re-synchronization, the user will be prompted to choose whether to set up the device as a new device.

Step 4: Simply select the option to restore from backup and all contents that were previously saved on the Apple Watch will be restored from the iPhone.

How to Reset Apple Smartwatch to Original Settings?

Step 1: Open the ‘Settings’ app on your Apple Watch and go to ‘General’

Step 2: Scroll down on your screen and select the option of ‘Reset’

Step 3: Tap on Erase All Content and Settings’, on the screen

Step 4: Next, you will be asked to enter your passcode for the Apple Watch

step 5; Once the passcode has been entered, scroll down and confirm that you wish to reset the Apple Watch

Within a few seconds, your Apple Watch will be reset, while all your previous data will be safe on your backup device.

The reset Watch will appear as if it were brand new,  asking to be paired with an iPhone to complete the initial setup, again. The Watch will reset to whatever version of WatchOS was pre-installed on it. Resetting your Apple Watch does no affect its OS in any way.
